1) Initial Kickoff and Planning Sessions: Here, we will dive deep into your background, getting to know the stories, achievements, development opportunities, and milestones that have made you the unique individual you are today.

​

2) Resume Creation: You may already have a professional resume, but we'll be tailoring it to fit the needs of a DMBA application. Working on the resume together also provides an opportunity for me to get to know you more deeply, which will help me to help you to craft your essays and recommendation briefings. The resume process continues throughout our time together, as experience proves it to be a dynamic document, one that changes as your career and life progress.
 

3) Career Strategy: We'll spend time determining your short-, mid-, and long-term goals, and then seeing how they align to your past experience and the DMBA programs you have chosen.

 

4) Recommender Selection and Support: We'll determine who will be the strongest candidates, and I'll coach you on how to approach them. We'll then create together a briefing to help the recommenders draft the strongest possible support letters. For recommenders who would prefer, I can work directly with them to help craft personal recommendations that help you to stand out.

 

5) School Selection: Together, we'll put together a list of best-fit schools based on your profile, goals, and preferences.

 

6) Essay Brainstorming: Here, we put to use all the material we came up with in the initial personal history sessions. We'll put all the jigsaw puzzle pieces out on the table and move them around until the picture of you is clear. We do this for each school to ensure that the overall narrative fits and that the most significant moments, achievements, and stories of your life are told, and in the most meaningful way. 

 

7) Essay Editing: We'll outline each one together, enabling you to easily put together your first draft. Then, we'll have unlimited iterations until we both believe the document is ready for submission.

8) Activities & Interests, Awards & Honors, Employment details: You may be surprised to learn that the online application forms contain many hidden essay questions and text boxes that need to be filled with content. From clubs you joined at college, through your current weekend warrior hobby, to the time you have spent abroad, these are areas that need thought, attention, and the right kind of crafting. We'll complete it all together for all your schools.
 

9) Final Review: I go over the final product with a fine-tooth comb and share your main essays and documents with an associate, both for added perspective and feedback and to ensure there are no typos, errors, or other small mistakes that can take focus away from your brilliant content.
 

10) Interview Preparation: The moment your applications are off, we can start preparing you for interviews! (Well, I'll let you have the weekend to rest, but that's it!) Much can be done to ensure that when you finally get that invite and go to meet your interviewer, you feel confident, in control, and at your best.

11) Waitlist Strategy (if applicable): If you're waitlisted, don't despair! It's a strong vote of confidence by the program, and usually means that there is some weakness in your profile that they hope the next candidate will have overcome. We'll work together to create a targeted action plan to improve your chances of admission, including new materials for the programs that welcome them.

12) Scholarship Applications and Negotiation: If you are applying to scholarships from your programs or outside funders, I'll be happy to discuss essay content and review your scholarship strategy and essay drafts. Upon acceptance to your programs, we will also review scholarship options, and I'll guide you if I see potential for additional funding from your chosen programs.
